The Geographical Distribution of Population in Al-Sharqat District
Main Article Content
Abstract
From what has been presented in the study, it was found that there was an increasing rate of population growth rate –a matter that is related to natural and human factors. Human factors played a major role in population concentration, where educational and health services and economic activity such as industry and trade exist in the districts of Al-Shirqat center. The presence of Tigris river also has a prominent role in the distribution of the population and the difference in their density between the provinces. In addition, lack of harmony between the urban and rural areas is due to the difference in area and human factors. By studying some of the methods of quantitative distribution of population, we find that they are living in some areas, and when applying the population redistribution index, it has been adopted that there are many of the population that are supposed to be redistributed to some provinces that recorded the least population density.
