Psychological Resilience among Intermediate School Students
Main Article Content
Abstract
The current research aims to identify psychological resilience among middle school students and to examine the statistically significant differences in psychological resilience based on gender (males vs. females) and academic branch (scientific vs. literary). In order to achieve the research objectives, the researcher developed a psychological resilience scale. The validity and reliability of the scale were verified, and the discriminatory power of the scale items was assessed using the T-Test for two independent samples. The final version of the scale comprised 44 items. Reliability was evaluated using both the retest method and Cronbach's alpha. The scale was administered to a research sample of 300 male and female students from the preparatory stage for the academic year 2023-2024, selected through a stratified random sampling method. The data were statistically analyzed using the SPSS statistical package, with assistance from a statistical expert. The results indicated that preparatory stage students exhibit a high level of psychological resilience. Furthermore, there were no statistically significant differences in psychological resilience based on gender or academic branch among middle school students. In light of these findings, the researcher formulated several recommendations and proposals.
