الملخص
يتناول البحث أثر العوامل البشرية في نشوء وتفاقم المخاطر البيئية في قضاء بيجي، بوصفه نموذجًا لمناطق تعاني تدهورًا بيئيًا متسارعًا نتيجة تفاعل العوامل الطبيعية والبشرية. ويهدف إلى تقديم تقييم متكامل للمخاطر البيئية في منطقة الدراسة، التي تتعرض لضغوط مركبة تشمل الجفاف والتصحر والزحف العمراني والرعي الجائر، فضلًا عن الأنشطة الصناعية المرتبطة بالصناعة النفطية وما ينجم عنها من تلوث الهواء والمياه والتربة بفعل التسربات النفطية والمخلفات والانبعاثات الغازية. كما يسهم الضغط السكاني المتزايد في تعميق استنزاف الموارد الطبيعية المحدودة أصلًا. وتشغل منطقة الدراسة مساحة 6741 كم²، ما يعادل(2696400) دونم, وتمثل نسبة 28% من اجمالي مساحة محافظة صلاح الدين، وتقع في الجزء الشمالي الغربي من السهل الرسوبي. والى الجنوب الغربي من المنطقة المتموجة يحدها من الشمال قضاء الشرقاط ومن الغرب محافظتي نينوى والانبار, ومن الجنوب قضاء تكريت, ومن الشرق محافظة كركوك, وتبيّن النتائج أن الأنشطة الصناعية والضغوط الديموغرافية، إلى جانب آثار الحروب والنزاعات، تشكل تهديدًا مباشرًا لصحة الإنسان والنظم البيئية والأمنين المائي والغذائي، مما يستدعي اعتماد نهج تكاملي شامل لإدارة هذه المخاطر
