Abstract

Ireland experienced difficult economic conditions in the period from 1845-1852, as life was disrupted in all its joints due to the spread of a fungal disease that infected the main crop in it, not the potato, that crop that formed the mainstay of its economy, but rather a livelihood linked to it, so poverty, hunger and disease spread in it and thousands of people died. People had to migrate to several places, especially to the United States of America, the country where there were thousands of Irish origins who had previously immigrated to it.

It is also the United States of America, a young country with an active economy that is looking for people to serve its interests, which are developing day after day, especially in the American West, when it happened that California came under American rule that rich state in its natural resources and vast lands. So it was the destination of many of Ireland's immigrants to work in gold mines and compensate for what they lost in their country.

From there, those migrations set out to form, with other migrations, the new California society, whose motto was quick get-rich by immigrating to California and striving in the gold rush for economic glory.
