Emotional Attachment Patterns and Their Relationship to Some Variables among University Students
Main Article Content
Abstract
The current research aims to identify the emotional attachment patterns among university students, as well as the statistically significant differences in emotional attachment patterns according to the variables of gender (male–female), academic specialization (scientific–humanities), and academic stage (first–fourth).
To achieve the objectives of the current research, the researcher developed a scale for emotional attachment patterns and extracted its psychometric properties, including validity and reliability. The instrument was administered to a research sample selected through stratified random sampling, consisting of 400 male and female university students, according to the variables of gender (male–female) and academic specialization (scientific–humanities) for the academic year (2025–2026). The statistical methods used in the present study were the Chi-square test, Pearson's correlation coefficient, Cronbach's alpha, and the t-test (for both one sample and two independent samples). The results indicated the following: University students exhibit patterns of emotional attachment. Furthermore, no statistically significant differences were found on the scale.
