The Phenomenon of Contrast in Fadlallah Al-Rawandi’s Poetry
Main Article Content
Abstract
Contrast is one of the most important artistic tools used to express contradictions in life and contributes to drawing a clear picture of the internal and external conflicts that a person faces. The technique of contrast in Al-Rawandi's poetry shows the duality of opposition in it, as he is able to embody the contradictions inherent in human nature and in the social and political life that he lived. Al-Rawandi's use of these dualities was not merely verbal manipulation or poetic decoration, but rather a true reflection of the tensions that form part of his personal and societal experience. Al-Rawandi's role in this field makes him one of the poets who were able to invest literature as a tool for contemplating existence and its contradictions. Perhaps this is what distinguishes his poetry and makes it a constant subject of research and discussion among scholars. We have come across this research because of the dualities in his poetic texts, such as life and death, hope and despair. These dualities also contributed to strengthening the philosophical aspects of his poetry, which gave it a deep contemplative character. These dualities were greatly influenced by the social and political circumstances in which the poet lived, as they reflected the challenges and conflicts surrounding him through his use of these dualities. The poet did not only express the aesthetic aspects, but rather exploited them to convey moral values and enhance awareness among the recipients.
