The Impact of Listen Read Discuss Strategy on EFL Preparatory School Students’ Use of Conjunctions

Abstract
Listen Read Discuss strategy helps students in achieving meaningful understanding during the discussion stage. The current study aims at finding out the impact of using Listen Read Discuss strategy on EFL preparatory school students' use of conjunctions. The population of the current study consists of 924 which represent 17% students from fifth preparatory schools in Al-shirqat City, with a sample of 60 randomly selected from Ashoor preparatory school for boys during the academic year 2025-2026. The participants are divided into two groups: the experimental group, includes 30 students while the control group comprises 30 students. To ensure comparability, both groups have been equalized in their age, the parents’ academic attainment and their scores in the post test. The data collected are analyzed statistically. The findings show that Listen Read Discuss strategy positively influences the experimental group's English learning outcomes in using conjunctions compared to the control group.
