Spatial Variation of Gas Stations
Main Article Content
Abstract
Services are a crucial measure of societal progress and the quality of life for its inhabitants. Therefore, gas stations were selected as the focus of the research due to their classification as service enterprises and their significant role in being located along key routes, particularly in response to the growing number of automobiles in the region. Road No. (1) in Salah al-Din Governorate is crucial for facilitating transportation due to its significant role in powering vehicle engines. The geographical distribution of gas stations is regarded as a significant factor that influences the economic process. Furthermore, it is the first investigation dedicated to the examination of petrol stations located along roadways. The analysis revealed the presence of a total of 64 government and privately built gas stations within the study region. The analysis reveals that the number of government stations is lower than the number of built stations. Specifically, government stations account for 10.9% of the total stations, while constructed stations make up 89% of the total stations. The distribution of gas stations in the study area is uneven, with Baiji district having the highest number of gas stations, totaling 22 stations. Al-Shirqat district follows with 11 stations, and Tikrit with 15 stations. The remaining districts have a combined total of 16 stations.
