The Structure of the Oddity Text and its Transformations in the Contemporary Iraqi Theater
Main Article Content
Abstract
The research is divided into four sections. The first section deals with the research problem, which was limited to the following question: what is the structure of the oddity text and its transformations in contemporary Iraqi theater? As for the importance of research and the need for it, it is reflected in the work to study the structure of the oddity text and its transformations in contemporary Iraqi theater to shed light on a number of references that may help the playwright in consolidating the scientific approach to know the mechanisms of influence regarding the text, and this research will benefit the study of theater literature and researchers in the field of criticism and playwriting. The second section is confined to the origins of the structure of the western theatrical text, and the chapter was concluded with the indicators that resulted from the theoretical framework. The third section is limited to the research sample that the researchers identified in the intentional method, which is the play Al-Kharaba by the Iraqi playwright Yusuf Al-Ani written in standard Arabic in 1981 because it was distinguished from other plays by its richness and diversity in dealing with the topic of research and in proportion to the aim of the study. The two researchers adopted the descriptive (analytical) approach in analyzing the research sample. The last section deals with the findings of the researchers, and the most important of them are:
1.The playwright Youssef Al-Ani was able to create a new theatrical formula that adheres to the essence of the structure of the westernized text without the play losing its Arab spirit.
2.Al-Ani used multiple separate panels, and each panel had its beginning, middle and end, to educate the recipient to break the merger. The most prominent of the findings of the research is the viewer's request for a change in the social, political and economic system, the use of multiple panels to break the illusion, the non-use of language charged with emotions. The research ended with recommendations and proposals and established sources and references.
