Abstract

Repetition is of great importance in the artwork because it imparts a kind of movement and aesthetics without monotony, in addition to its importance in conveying the artist's speech to the recipient. Repetition is one of the main foundations, not only in Arab and Islamic art, but also in international art as a whole. The research problem was identified by the following question: What is the aesthetic of repetition in the plastic visual text? The first chapter also included the aim of the research: identifying the aesthetic of repetition in the plastic visual text. As for the limits of the research, it was limited to studying the aesthetic of repetition cognitively and aesthetically and its applications through analyzing illustrated models of artistic paintings that represent the current of modern European painting for the period (1915-1943 AD). As for the second chapter, it included the theoretical framework, which contained three topics. The first dealt with the aesthetic vision in thought and art. The second dealt with the aesthetics of formal repetition in the visual text, while the third dealt with repetition and rhythm in the visual text. The third chapter contained the research procedures that included the research community, its sample, and the research method, and then analyzed the sample, which amounted to (3) samples. The fourth chapter included the results reached by the researcher, including: The recurring forms and their visual unity resulted in opening aesthetic outlets and distinguishing them in visual attraction and creating pleasure in the visual text. As for the most important conclusions reached by the researcher, the diversity in the level of artwork came to achieve aesthetic goals as well as social goals. The research ended with a number of recommendations and proposals, as well as a list of sources and appendices.
