Abstract

The cartographic analysis of the electric power transmission network in Baghdad governorate using Geographic Information Systems is one of the important studies that reveals the reality of the electric power transmission network in Baghdad governorate, given the importance of electric power in Baghdad governorate and its function in all areas of residential, economic and service life . Therefore, our study was based on the lack of accurate databases of the locations of the electric power transmission system and its directions.          As for the research objective, it was determined by the definition of the various components of the electric power transmission system in Baghdad governorate. Building a geographical database on the components of the energy transmission system in Baghdad governorate using modern cartographic techniques is of comprehensive benefit that can be updated continuously.

-: The study reached the following main results     .  1.Through the study, it appeared to us that there is a clear discrepancy in the distribution of electric power production stations in Baghdad governorate during 2024, as a cartography showed a discrepancy between the distribution of steam stations, production stations and diesel stations in the areas of Baghdad governorate, and this distribution is due to the discrepancy in the distribution of the governorate's population, which led to a discrepancy in the  distribution of production quantities of electric energy.

Electrical resistance is the result of collisions between electric charges themselves or between electric charges and the atoms of the conductor's metal. The electrical resistance of a single-phase electrical circuit is calculated using the following equation:

[ R=Ptimesleft(frac{L}{A}right) ]

Where:

R = Electrical resistance (ohms per square meter, Ω m).

P = Resistivity of the conductor material (ohm/square millimeter, Ω m²).

L = Length in meters (m²).

A = Cross-sectional area of the conductor in square millimeters (m m²).
