Abstract

This research aims to Identify:

  1. The level of academic coping strategies among university students.

  2. The statistically significant differences in the level of academic coping strategies according to the gender variable (female, male).

  3. The statistically significant differences in the level of academic coping strategies according to the specialization variable (scientific, humanities).

The research adopted the descriptive correlational approach. The researcher developed a scale to measure academic coping strategies. The study population consisted of students from Tikrit University for the academic year 2025/2026. The sample included (300) male and female students, distributed between humanities specializations 247 students and scientific specializations 53 students, using a stratified random sample with proportional distribution.

The researcher used several statistical tools, including: the t-test for one sample and two independent samples, chi-square test, Pearson correlation coefficient, in addition to the mean and standard deviation. After applying the scales and analyzing the data statistically, the researcher reached the following results:

  1. University students possess a good level of academic coping strategies.

  2. There are no statistically significant differences according to the gender variable (male, female).

  3. There are statistically significant differences according to the specialization variable (scientific – humanities).
