Abstract

Yaqoub bin Yusuf bin Ibrahim bin Dawood bin Kilis, was one of the Jews of Baghdad, traveled to the Levant with his father, then entered Egypt, and gained the confidence of Kafur Al-Akhshidi, one of the rulers of the Achachidian state, and the de facto ruler of Egypt, and the Levant after the announcement of Ibn Kilis His conversion to Islam, and he used to consult him in many of his affairs, the Fatimid Caliph Al-Muizz Li Din Allah entrusted him with the military and civil affairs of the state, as well as overseeing the country's financial affairs, al-Kharaj, al-Hasbah, endowments, and other business, and he became a minister in the Fatimid state. Because of his administrative and financial experiences, his wit and acumen, and his love for scholars and councils of scholars. He died in Dhu al-Hijjah in the year 380 A.H. / 990AD, and the Fatimid Caliph, Al-Aziz God, ordered that he be buried in his home in Cairo and attended his funeral and prayed over him.
