الملخص
يعقوب بن يوسف بن ابراهيم بن داود بن كلس ، كان من يهود بغداد، سافر الى الشام مع والده، ثم دخل مصر ، واكتسب ثقة كافور الاخشيدي احد حكام الدولة الاخشيدية، والحاكم الفعلي لمصر، والشام ، بعد اعلان ابن كلس اسلامه ، وكان يستشيره في كثير من اموره ، أسند اليه الخليفة الفاطمي المعز لدين الله شؤون الدولة الحربية ، والمدنية ، وكذلك قلده مهمة الإشراف على شؤون البلاد المالية، والخراج ، والحسبة ، والأوقاف ، وسائر الأعمال، واصبح وزيرا لدى الدولة الفاطمية ، لخبراته الادارية والمالية ، وماعرف به من الدهاء والفطنة ، وحبه لأهل العلم ومجالس العلماء، وتوفي في ذي الحجة سنة( 380ه /990 م)، فأمر الخليفة الفاطمي العزيز بالله ، أن يدفن في داره بالقاهرة ،وحضر جنازته وصلى عليه.
