The Impact of Spatial Progress on Aspects of Deprivation in Kirkuk Governorate
Main Article Content
Abstract
The spatial progress of cities is characterized by a constant development and a regulated usage of the natural resources of the city. Furthermore, the spatial progress is marked by a recognizable balance in the field of urban environment which is achieved through the development of its components and consequently their goals. The study, however, shows variable aspects in Kirkuk governorate in terms of population, economic, industrial, and agricultural activities, as well as the basic infrastructures such as housing projects, clear water, sewage, and roads. While these aspects are clearly supported in the center of the Kirkuk district, they fluctuate in both of the districts of Debs and Daquq, which are featured by the widespread manifestations of poverty and deprivation. The study reaches a set of suggestions and recommendations that contribute to restoring balance in projects and services that would develop the various urban centers of Kirkuk Governorate.
