الملخص
قام ليون تروتسكي وبسبب الألم الذي شعر به جراء الأعمال الوحشية من قتل واعتقال، التي قامت بها الحكومة السوفيتية، والتي لحقت برفاقه الثوريين، بالتفكير جدياً بتأسيس الأممية الرابعة، لتكون نضاله ضد تلك الحكومة، وعلى الرغم من كل المصاعب التي واجهته إلا إنه استطاع تأسيسها والعمل بها.
حظيت الأفكار التي نادى بها ليون تروتسكي بقبول لدى المعارضين للأممية الثالثة، والمخالفين لأعمال ستالين، بسبب الطريقة التي اتبعها الأخير في إدارة البلاد والتي أسهمت في تحول أنصار الثورة القدامى إلى تروتسكي لإيجاد بيئة وقاعدة شيوعية جديدة يتمكنون من خلالها تحقيق مآربهم.
كان هدف تروتسكي من تأسيس الأممية الرابعة، هو جمع السياسيين المعارضين لحكومة جوزيف ستالين في صف واحد وأن تكون تحت قيادته، وكذلك جمع التيارات السياسية المعارضة لحكومة الاتحاد السوفيتي.
