أوضاع الجزائر في سنوات الحرب العالمية الأولى 1914-1918م

الملخص
أثرت الحرب العالمية الأولى على مجمل الأوضاع التي عاشها الجزائريون في تلك الحقبة إذ عانى السكان من مجموعة أحكام فرضها الاحتلال الفرنسي عليهم للحفاظ على مكتسباته ومصالحه على الرغم من معاناة السكان منها، فقد فرضت جملة قوانين كانت السبب في تشريد عددٍ من الشباب وانتشار البطالة وهجرة الآخرين داخلياً إلى المدن الحضرية أو إلى فرنسا أو الدول المجاورة، وامتد التعسف بحق السكان ليشمل وحدة الأسرة بعد أن حاولت تفكيك المجتمع عن طريق التضييق عليهم بفرض الضرائب وتحويل الفلاحين إلى عمال، واستنزاف الموارد الإنتاجية والزراعية التي ينتجها السكان، وكذلك قوانين جائرة أخرى كقانون الأهالي الذي يفرض على الفرد الجزائري مجموعة من العقوبات التي تنفذ فوراً منها الحبس والغرامة والسخرة وغيرها، ولم يحصل الجزائري على ابسط الحقوق التي كان يطالب بها الأعيان والمثقفين؛ بسبب معارضة المستوطنين لكل بادرة أمل قد تؤدي إلى إصلاح مجتمعهم، لإبقاء السكان الجزائريين تحت تسلطهم، وهكذا عاش السكان الجزائريون أوضاعاً اجتماعية سيئة أثناء الحرب، وفقدوا عدداً كبيراً من أبنائهم جراء مشاركتهم فيها.
