الملخص
تدور أحداث رواية ( صيادون في شارع ضيق) في بغداد وتحديدا في شارع الرشيد ، تعرض الرواية حياة شاب فلسطيني يُدعى جميل فران الذي تعرض للتشرد كالكثيرين من ابناء وطنه فلسطين، فيضطر اول الامر ان يترك منزله في القدس ليعيش في منزل متواضع في بيت لحم ، وبسبب الاحوال الاقتصادية للاجئين يحاول البحث عن العمل خارج الوطن ، فيعين استاذا للأدب الانجليزي في احدى الجامعات العراقية ، ليبدأ تجربة حياتية جديدة هناك ويتعرف بطل الرواية (جميل) في فترة وجوده في العراق / على شخصيات متعددة ، فيوثق علاقاته مع تلك الشخصيات ليشكل مادته الروائية من تلك الحوارات بينه وبينهم حول قضايا اجتماعية وسياسية وثقافية وشيئا فشيئا وبشكل منطقي يتعرف على نساء المجتمع الارستقراطي مثل سلمى وبعد ذلك سلافة .
يحتل موضوع حب جميل وسلافة مساحة ابداعية روائية ذات دلالة في الحدث الروائي ونجده فنيا ذا بداية ووسط ونهاية غامضة مفتوحة، فلم يتحقق الزواج لعدة عبارات فنية ومنطقية فتنتهي الرواية بقبلة حارة ومشهد عناق بين الحبيبين .
وتناقش الرواية على لسان شخصياتها العديد من الافكار ويشاركهم في الحوار جميل فران الذي ابدى موقفه من تلك الافكار التي دار رحى النقاش فيها بين شخصيات الرواية ومن زاوية اخرى تؤرخ الرواية دراميا التحولات العميقة التي شهدتها بغداد تحديدا في تلك الفترة الزمنية
