Abstract

Modern learning strategies have become one of the most important means that the teacher cares about because of their great impact on achieving educational goals. (Al-Masalha and Abu Al-Hajj, 2016, 39). Therefore, the current study aimed to find out the effectiveness of a proposed strategy based on metacognitive skills in the achievement of fourth-grade students in the field of science in the subject of Islamic education. To achieve the goal of the research, the researcher formulated the hypothesis that there is no statistically significant difference at the level of significance (0.05) between the average scores of the experimental group, which was studied according to the proposed strategy (B), and the average of the control group's scores, which are studied according to the usual method in the achievement test in the subject of Islamic education. The current research was limited to a sample of fourth-grade scientific students of one of the morning schools of Baghdad-Rusafa Governorate II for the academic year (2019-2020). The aim of the study required the existence of two tools, namely the proposed strategy based on metacognitive skills and the achievement test for the Holy Quran and Islamic Education, which were prepared. By the researcher and presented to a group of experts in the field of teaching methods, measurement and evaluation, and it was agreed upon at a rate of (100%).As for the achievement test, it contains (40) items of the multiple-choice type, and the researcher verified the validity of the test and also found the difficulty factor and fixed discrimination for the test items using the Keod-Richardson equation (20), as the stability factor was (0,83), and after she was rewarded The researcher applied between the two groups with the variables (age in months, level of intelligence, academic achievement of parents). She applied her experience according to the subjects of the course book, the teaching plans and the behavioral goals that she prepared herself for both groups. Then the researcher conducted the test for the two research groups, and the test was corrected And analyzing it statistically using the T-test for two independent samples, it found a statistically significant difference at a level of significance (0.05) for the benefit of the experimental group, and in light of the findings of the study, the researcher recommended adopting the strategy as an effective teaching model for achievement. As for what the researcher suggested, conducting a similar study for the current study On other school-level subjects.
