Professional Conscience among University Employees

Abstract
The current study aims to identify:
- The level of professional conscience among university employees.
- Statistically significant differences in professional conscience according to the gender variable (males - females).
- Statistically significant differences in professional conscience according to the service variable (1-5) (6 years and above).
The current research sample consisted of Tikrit University employees of both genders for the academic year (2024/2025). The research sample consisted of (300) male and female employees, comprising (202) male employees and (98) female employees. Of these, (137) male and female employees had five years of service or less, and (163) male and female employees had six years of service or more for the academic year (2024/2025). To achieve the objectives of the current research, the researcher was required to develop two research tools: The first tool is a professional conscience scale. The validity, discrimination, and reliability were verified. The final version of the scale now consists of (32) items. After verifying the validity and reliability of the two scales and using statistical methods, the researcher reached the following results: Statistical Methods: The researcher employed: (percentage, chi-square, t-test for two equal independent samples, Pearson's correlation coefficient, Cronbach's alpha equation, t-test for one sample, t-test for two unequal independent samples).
The research results revealed:
1.Tikrit University employees have a high level of professional conscience.
2.There were no statistically significant differences in the professional conscience variable among Tikrit University employees, both male and female, according to the gender variable (male-female).
3.There were no statistically significant differences in the professional conscience variable between male and female employees, according to the length of service variable (1-5 years) (6 years or more).
