Abstract
The poetic image in Arabic literature has received great attention by researchers and students of Arabic poetry. This study focuses on the sensory image in Abu Ishaq al-Ghazi’s poetry. His collection of poems contains numerous and wonderful sensory images that reflect his external world. These images are a means of entering the poetic text and understanding its structure and expressions. The study sheds light on the sensory images, which are divided into five types: visual, auditory, tactile, gustatory, and olfactory. Each image reflects the work of its own sense, and it also engages the reader’s senses and makes him feel the smallest details with the poet.
