Abstract

The current research aims to identify creative thinking among primary school principals and to show the statistical significant differences in creative thinking among primary school principals according to the gender variable (males/females). Moreover, it intends to calculate the significant differences in creative thinking among primary school principals according to the variable number of years of service (5 years or mor). The current research population consists of primary school principals in Saladin Governorate (Tikrit Education Department) for the academic year 2023-2024. Their number is 200 male and female principals, distributed into (107) male and (93) female principals. After determining the number of primary schools in the Tikrit Education Department, the researcher chose the research sample in a random manner according to the variables of gender (males - females) and the number of years of service. The sample consisted of 200 male and female director, and to achieve the research objectives, the researcher prepared a measure for creative thinking, as the measure consisted of (38) items in three areas: (fluency, flexibility, originality).The researcher used a number of statistical methods, including (chi-square, Pearson correlation coefficient, Cronbach's alpha coefficient, t-test for one sample, and t-test for two independent samples), and the data was analyzed statistically using the statistical program Spss. After processing the data statistically, the following results were reached: 1. The creative thinking of the research sample is high. 2. There are no statistically significant differences between males and females in creative thinking. 3. Primary school principals excelled in creative thinking in favor of years of service less than 5 years.
