Abstract

Child labor is a multi-faceted problem linked to demographic facts, and finding solutions to it is difficult. Therefore, the research monitors the demographic characteristics of working children to determine the age groups most exposed to the risk of work. It also studies the qualitative composition, educational level, place of birth, and size of the families of working children, and determines the most important reasons why I pushed the children to work and distributed them geographicallyIn order to reach the researcher’s objectives, the researcher prepared a questionnaire and distributed it to a sample of (150) working children. It was found that the age group most exposed to the risk of work is the group (6-11) years, as it amounted to 37% of the number of working children in the study area. The percentage of male working children reached 79%, while the percentage of females reached 21%, The most important reason that prompted children to work is the deteriorating economic situation of families, and the researcher recommended the necessity of health and housing insurance and social security for poor families and creating job opportunities for parents who are able to work.
