The Economic Policy of the Democratic Party Government and Its Impact on the Social Conditions in Turkey 1950 – 1960

Abstract
The research aims to study the economic policy adopted by the Democratic Party during the period of its rule in Turkey (1950-1960), and focused in particular on the social effects resulting from the implementation of those economic policies, and it was found through the research that these economic programs were reforms that focused on appearance only without the substance, and certain classes benefited from it, without including the real problems and all groups of the Turkish people, as well as poor planning and reliance on foreign loans, which burdened the Turkish economy, and the research concluded that the Democratic Party government failed to address the problems that the Turkish economy was suffering. One of them is the inability to advance the economic reality, and this was largely reflected in the low-income groups, who suffered from the high cost of living and limited income, as well as the inflation that significantly weakened the value of the Turkish lira, which thus led to the first military coup in Turkey which overthrew the Democratic Party government in 1960, and marked the end of the political life of the party and its leaders in Turkey.
