Abstract

This study deals with the movement of transportation within the University of Tikrit using the techniques of geographic information systems (GIS) and the access to this study to highlight the importance of the subject by showing the areas of traffic congestion experienced by the internal transport network at the University of Tikrit determining these areas accurately and knowing the causes of these traffic jams and trying to find treatments and technical and administrative solutions for them in order to achieve the objectives of the study, which is one of the topics of direct concern to a large number of people and at specific times. The study also reached many conclusions that show that the University of Tikrit is in its place. The current and basic design has a lot of shortcomings, especially in the width of the streets, as well as the university’s lack of a lot of parking spaces to park vehicles in. Therefore, the most important recommendations were to carry out extensive campaigns in order to educate the citizen and the driver about the necessity of not trespassing on the road network and the necessity of expanding the narrow streets through the university’s infrastructure from In order to achieve the goals that are intended to be achieved through this study.
