The most prominent problems facing the retired population are problems related to the health aspect, where their bodily functions begin to atrophy and weaken, due to the continuous lack of the body’s ability to resist external influences, in addition to the fact that most of the health problems that afflict elderly retirees may affect other individuals of different ages.  However, it represents more danger to the elderly than retired people due to their weak resistance and rapid exposure to the disease.  The research revealed some important facts and spatial discrepancies between the administrative units in Kirkuk governorate, that the number of retired residents suffering from diseases reached (1106) retirees, constituting (74.2%) of the total retirees in the study area.  They suffer from health problems in urban areas (794) of the total pensioners, while their size in rural areas reached (312) of their total.   The number of male retired people with diseases in the governorate was (894) pensioners and represents (80.8%) of the total number of pensioners, while the number of female pensioners reached (212) retired, and they represented (19.2%) of the total number of pensioners in the governorate.  Diabetes ranked first with a rate of (35.4%) of the total diseases suffered by retirees, while cancerous diseases ranked eighth and last with a rate of (1.6%) of the total diseases suffered by the study sample members.
