Abstract

The aim of the research is to identify the effect of the SHOR strategy on the achievement of fourth class literary students in sociology.To achieve the goal of the research, the researcher relied on the experimental design with partial control, which is the design of the two control experimental groups with the post-test. The researcher made equivalence between the students of the two research groups in the following variables (chronological age calculated in months, previous year’s grades, parents’ academic achievement, and intelligence). The researcher prepared a tool for research, as it was represented by an achievement test in the subject of sociology, as the test consisted of (26) test items, and the researcher made sure of its sincerity, stability, the level of difficulty of its paragraphs, the strength to distinguish its paragraphs, and the effectiveness of its incorrect alternatives. After the researcher applied the research tool to the two research groups, he reached to the superiority of the experimental group students who studied sociology according to the SHOR strategy over the students of the control group who studied the same subject in the usual way in the achievement test, and in light of the results of the research, the following conclusions were reached:Teaching using the SHOT strategy has contributed to increasing and improving the achievement of fourth-grade literary students in sociology. The strength of distinguishing its paragraphs, and the effectiveness of its incorrect alternatives, and after the researcher applied the research tool to the two research groups, he reached teaching using the SHOR strategy, which contributed to improving the social intelligence of the fourth class literary students in sociology, and in light of the results of the research, the following conclusions were reached:Teaching using the SHOR strategy has contributed to increasing and improving the social intelligence of the fourth class literary female students in sociology.
