Abstract
Cognitive self-efficacy and its relation to the cognitive beliefs of university students
Research Objectives: - The current research aims to identify:
1. The self-efficacy levels of the students of Tikrit University.
2. Differences of significance according to variables (sex, specialization).
The Sample:
The study was limited to a random sample of third grade students in the faculties of the University of Tikrit, according to the gender variable (male and female) and the (scientific - humanitarian). The final sample of the study was 280 students, 140 of them 140 students ) And students and specialists (scientific and human).
Tools:
The self-perceived competency scale (54) was constructed and the (Al.Sayed ; 2009).
Statistical methods: Statistical data processing: Statistical square (Pearson square, Pearson correlation coefficient, T-test for one sample.
CONCLUSIONS: Through the findings of the research and the comparison of the results of the previous studies, the following conclusions were reached:
1. University students enjoy a good level of self-competence. This is a result of the positive role of the university student who is able to use his knowledge and abilities in the face of the conditions he is living.
- The level of perceived self-efficacy of males is the highest level of female self-efficacy. This is due to experiences received by both sexes.
3. The level of self-perceived efficiency of males in relation to scientific specialization is higher than that of females due to the interaction of professors and students in general.
Recommendations: In the light of the research results, the researcher recommends the following:
1. Preparation of curricula for different disciplines that stimulate the mental activity of students and contribute to building their personalities towards the development of different capacities of university students.
2. Developing and modernizing the efficiency and experience of teaching staff at universities through exchange of experiences with prestigious international universities in order to provide their students with knowledge field developments.
Proposals: In light of the above, the following researcher suggests:
1. Conduct a study similar to the current study in other stages of study (such as the preparatory stage, and postgraduate students).
