Abstract

This research studies the changes that occurred in French society, especially during the assumption of the French President, Valerie Giscard d'Estaing who led the reforms that modernized French society, after the economic, social and cultural transformations alongside the new role of women in society. The demands of the women's movement at that time and its amazing deeds aimed at attracting the attention of the media and political circles, because women were rarely presented as an independent being in a patriarchal society.  The research is divided into four sections that deal with the political reforms undertaken by Valerie Giscard, whether general or specific to French women, Valerie Giscard’s reforms related to socio-economic women, the enactment of laws related to women's rights,  and reforms and other laws that focus on the rights of French women and raising their status in French society. The research concludes that Valérie Giscard d'Estaing's goal was not to revolt or build heaven for all, but rather to reduce the stark inequalities that existed in French society.
