الملخص
أزدهرت الحدائق الحضرية والمتنزهات والمعاهد الموسيقية في أواخر القرن التاسع عشر وأصبحت الآن متاحة على نطاق واسع للجمهور على المستوى الثقافي والاجتماعي. أدى إنشاء ألمناطق ألطبيعية داخل المدن إلى دمج القطاعات الريفية والحضرية في مكان واحد. من أجل دراسة تجربة "العالم الأخضر" في المسرح الفيكتوري، تم اختيار ثلاث مسرحيات من تأليف ثلاث كتاب بريطانين وهم آرثر وينج بينيرو وهنري آرثر جونز وأوسكار وايلد من النصف الثاني من القرن التاسع عشر لهذه الدراسة. تمتد المسرحيات إلى المهرجانات والخيال والميلودراما، وتقدم العديد من وجهات النظر حول فكرة الهروب إلى جانب اكتشاف العوالم الأخرى والتوق إليها.
من خلال تحليل أحلام وتجارب الكون البديل، من الممكن فهم وجهات النظر الفيكتورية حول المناظر الطبيعية ودورها كفترة راحة من المراكز التجارية الحضرية أو الصناعية. يمكن أن يساعد ذلك في إثارة نقاش حول رغبات الشخصيات في الهروب والظروف التي تدفعهم إلى البحث عن الهدوء في المناطق الريفية. يمكن اختبار تجارب الأبطال في العالم الآخر داخل العوالم البديلة إذا كان من الواضح ما الذي يحاولون الابتعاد عنه. بعد معرفة ما يحدث في العالم الأخضر، من الممكن فحص عدد المرات التي تكون فيها الشخصيات قادرة على اجتياز المواقف الصعبة.
