Abstract
Angela Merkel was considered one of the ambitious political figures at all levels, as she ruled Germany for sixteen years. During that period, she as able to bring about major radical changes in public institutions. These reforms qualified her rightly and deservedly for historians to call her (the mother of the German nation) and she was also called (the Iron Lady). European).
During the period of historical events and the fateful fall of the Berlin Wall for the Germans, the young scientist joined the ranks of the popular political force, the “Democratic Awakening Movement”, then an employee of the GDR government apparatus, and attended, in her new capacity, many meetings held in the context of the preparations for the annexation of the eastern territories. After German reunification, it became a member of the Bundestag. And due to her high potential, which caught the attention of the elected Prime Minister Helmut Kohl, he appointed her to the position of the Ministry of Women and Youth Affairs.
