الملخص
بعد تحقيق الاستقلال، ركزت الحكومة التونسية على إصلاح وتحديث التعليم، وتوحيد المناهج الدراسية، وجعل التعليم في جميع مراحله وفروعه مرتبطًا بالحكومة التونسية بطريقة مركزية ليست بجيل جديد من الشباب يؤمن بالحداثة الجديدة الأفكار التي أرادها الحبيب بورقيبة والموجودة على أرض الواقع في تونس.
كان مشروع محو الأمية، وافتتاح مدارس جديدة في جميع المدن والقرى التونسية، من أبرز الجهود التي بذلتها الحكومة لتحقيق نشر التعليم بشكل شامل في جميع أنحاء البلاد، وكذلك تنفيذ خطط تربوية مدروسة عملت على تحقيقها وتنظيم شؤون التعليم في جميع مراحله، وإتاحة التعليم للذكور والإناث. كلاهما من المدرسة الابتدائية حتى التعليم العالي، وكان لا بد من إعداد كوادر وطنية تربوية وتربوية تكون مسؤولة عن نشر التعليم بما يتماشى مع التوجه الحكومي الجديد في بناء دولة تونسية حديثة. وبالفعل، ارتفع عدد المعلمين والمعلمين التونسيين بشكل كبير، متجاوزًا نسبة الأجانب الذين كانوا يدرسون في المدارس التونسية قبل الاستقلال.
