الملخص
يشتهر الشاعر الامريكي والت ويتمان عالميا بوصفه المتحدث عن هوية امريكا الوطنية اثناء الحرب الاهلية الامريكية التي مثلت تجربة صادمة للشعب الامريكي حينذاك, ووجد ويتمان ان بلاده تتفتت امام عينيه ، وهو امر دفعه لتناول موضوع الهوية الوطنية الامريكية. ويتجسد هذا الاهتمام الوطني في عمله الرائع اوراق العشب والذي يتناول روح الوطنية الأمريكية. ويبن هذا البحث كيف ان ويتمان استكشف مفهوم الهوية الوطنية في قصيدته "يا الرواد! يا الرواد!. وفي هذه القصيدة ، يشجع الشعب الامريكي ويذكره بماضيه، في محاولة منه لزرع شعور التعاضد الاجتماعي والوطني في بلده الذي انهكته الحرب.
