يتناول هذه البحث حياة المحدث ابن ناصر الدين الدمشقي، أحد أبرز علماء الحديث في القرن الثامن الهجري ، الذي عاش في عصر ازدهار علمي كبير في بلاد الشام ، وبخاصة في دمشق ، وهو العصر المملوكي .
عرف ابن ناصر الدين بمساهماته القيمة في العلوم الدينية ، ولاسيما علم الحديث والسيرة النبوية وتراجم الرجال ، من خلال مؤلفاته وتدريسه .
