الملخص
يتناول بحث "الهجرة اللبنانية أواخر العهد العثماني وحتى نهاية الحرب العالمية الأولى ، دراسة ظاهرة الهجرة اللبنانية التي شهدت تصاعدًا ملحوظًا خلال تلك المدة. كانت الأسباب الرئيسة للهجرة متعددة، شملت الأوضاع الاقتصادية الصعبة الناتجة عن تدهور الزراعة والصناعة، والاضطرابات السياسية التي صاحبت ضعف الدولة العثمانية، وقدعانت منطقة جبل لبنان من أزمات متزايدة بسبب الفساد الحكومي، ونظام الضرائب الباهظ، والتوترات الطائفية بين مختلف المجتمعات الدينية. تزامنت هذه الأزمات مع تدهور اقتصادي كبير، إذ تأثرت الزراعة والصناعة سلبًا، مما جعل الكثيرين يفتقرون إلى فرص العمل الكافية والظروف المعيشية اللائقة. وكان للعامل الطائفي دور بارز في تهجير الطوائف اللبنانية بشكل قسري، فضلاً عن أحداث الحرب العالمية الاولى التي كان لها تأثير كبير على هجرة اللبنانيين إلى الخارج.
توجه المهاجرون اللبنانيون إلى العديد من الوجهات، بما في ذلك الامريكيتين، وأفريقيا، وأوروبا. ساهم المغتربون في دعم الاقتصاد اللبناني من خلال إرسال التحويلات المالية، كذلك نشطوا في تشكيل مجتمعات لبنانية في المهجر، حافظوا من خلالها على هويتهم الثقافية. وعلى الرغم من التحديات التي واجهوها في البلدان المضيفة، تمكن الكثيرون من النجاح وتأسيس أعمال تجارية قوية.
يخلص البحث إلى أن هذه الهجرة كانت لها آثار بعيدة المدى على المجتمع اللبناني، سواء أكان ذلك من الناحية الاقتصادية أم الاجتماعية .
