الملخص
يعد ثابت بن قرة من أهم العلماء في القرن الثالث الهجري، ويعد الركيزة الأساسية للازدهار الذي شهدته القرون وبخاصة القرنين الرابع والخامس الهجريين، أبدع في المجالات كافة ولاسيما العلمية منها فكان بحق مفخرة زمانه، لذلك فإن المكانة والاعجاب الذي تلقاه من الخلفاء العباسيين لم يأت من فراغ إنما لذلك الكم الهائل من العلوم التي كانت بجعبته فتقرب شيئا فشيئا حتى أصبح ملازما لمجالسهم والطبيب الخاص لعدد من خلفائهم . لم يغننا ثابت بالعلوم فقط بل أغنانا بعائلة كان لها باع طويل بالعلوم من أهمهم سنان بن ثابت الذي ذاع صيته وعلا شأنه، كذلك ثابت بن سنان بن ثابت وغيرهم من العلماء الذين كانت لهم بصمات كبيرة في مجال العلوم، وعلى الرغم من إن ثابت بن قرة اشتهر كطبيب بصفة عامة إلا أن من أعظم انجازاته كانت في مجالي الفلك والهندسة والترجمة والنقل والعديد من العلوم الأخرى.
