الملخص
تعد أعوام العقد التاسع من القرن التاسع عشر وتحديداً منذُ عام 1881م صعوداً أعوام ذات أهمية في صناعة التاريخ التركي الحديث. ففي تلك السنوات ظهرت معظم الشخصيات التركية التي عملت على التصدي ومنع إنهيار الدولة العثمانية بشكل متسارع, ونجحت في تأسيس دولة جديدة تنهض من ركام ذلك الإنهيار، لذا عُد حسين رؤوف أورباي واحداً من هؤلاء الرجال الذين حققوا نجاح باسم التاريخ العثماني في عهده المتأخر، وكتبوا أسمائهم في التاريخ التركي الحديث سواء على المستوى الوطني أو المستوى الدولي. وفى هذا البحث تم تناول دور حسين رؤوف أورباي من كل الجوانب، حيث تم التطرق إلى الوظائف التي كُلف بها منذُ ولادته إلى الحرب العالمية الأولى 1914_1918م, ومن دوره في الحركة الوطنية مروراً بمختلف التطورات، وكذلك العلاقة مع مصطفى كمال أتاتورك والأحداث التي أدت إلى نهاية تلك العلاقة، فضلاً عن التطرق لدوره السياسي في عهد الرئيس عصمت إينونو، وإنتهاءً بوفاته في عام 1964م.
