الملخص

يدرس هذا البحث زمن بداية الجهر (VOT) في اللغة التركمانية العراقية واللغة الانكليزية.  لقد تم استخدام الاصوات الانفجارية (t, k)  في بداية  مجموعة من الكلمات المفردة. وتم عرض هذه الكلمات على عشر متحدثين من اللغة التركمانية العراقية واربع متحدثين من اللغة الانكليزية تم التسجيل والتحليل باستخدام برنامج(Praat) واثبتت النتائج بان الاصوات الانفجارية في اللغة التركمانية العراقية واللغة الانكليزية لها نفس الموقع في لفظ زمن بداية الجهر (VOT). بالإضافة الى ذلك فقد اثبتت الدراسة بان لنوع وموقع صوت العلة تأثير قوي على زمن بداية الجهر(VOT). ولقد تم الاثبات ايضا بان تأثير الجنس على زمن بداية الجهر (VOT) يختلف من لغة الى اخرى. اذ انه في اللغة التركمانية العراقية لا يؤثر الجنس على نطق الحروف الانفجارية بينما يكون التأثير واضح في اللغة الانكليزية اذ ان للذكور معدل اعلى من الاناث في زمن بداية الجهر(VOT).
