الملخص
يرتبط بناء هوية الشتات ارتباطًا وثيقًا بالذكريات الجماعية بثقافة البلد الأم: تأريخها و تجاربها المؤلمة. اذ تناقش هذه الدراسة بأن هنالك علاقة واسعة بين الهجرة والتجارب الصادمة في الماضي وأن كلاهما يؤثر على تشكيل هوية المهاجرين في الشتات. تتناول هذ الدراسة ايضا , بعض المفاهيم المهمة مثل: الهجرة، صدمات النزوح, الوطن والحنين. تّركز هذه الدراسة على شِعر الشاعرة العراقية-الأمريكية دنيا ميخائيل (1965-). وعلاوة على ذلك, ان هذه الدراسة تناقش كيف استخدمت الشاعرة ميخائيل قصائد الألواح في شِعرها. كما تُظهر هذه الدراسة بشكل كبير، الطريقة التي يمكن أن تؤثر بها تجارب الشتات والذكريات المؤلمة على تشكيل هوية الجيل الأول من المهاجرين. فضلا عن ذلك, فإنها تؤكد, أن ما حدث في الماضي سيؤثر على المهاجرين في الحاضر و سيطاردهم بشكل دائم.
