الملخص
كان للملكة مارجريت انجو دورًا مؤثرًا في الصراع على العرش الإنجليزي الذي اشعل حربًا داخلية في إنجلترا عرفت في التاريخ الأوربي بحرب الوردتين، التي انطلقت منذ عام 1455م وصولًا إلى العام 1485م. وقد تخلل هذه الحرب الكثير من المعارك التي دارت رحاها فوق الأراضي الإنجليزية يحركها الصراع المستعر على العرش الإنجليزي بين أسرتي لانكستر بقيادة الملكة مارجريت انجو، ويورك بزعامة ريتشارد بلانتاجنت دوق يورك.
ولم يكن دور الملكة مارجريت انجو لينتهي في الصراع على العرش الإنجليزي لولا مقتل ابنها الأمير ادوارد -الوريث الأوحد لآل لانكستر- على يد الملك ادوارد الرابع بعد انتهاء معركة توكسبوري عام 1471م لتنضوي بعدها الملكة مارجريت انجو في عزلة تامة عما يدور في انجلترا، وتاجها، وبجميع ما يتعلق بالعرش الإنجليزي، وبقيت على هذا الحال حتى وفاتها في آب عام 1482م.
