Abstract
The study deals with the center and the margins in Mohsen Ramil’s novel Gardens of the President. It delves deeply into the Iraqi society during a particular era of Iraq’s history, namely 1980’s and its aftermath. The novel represents the Iraqi suffering concerning marginalization at the hands of a dictatorial regime that directed and controlled Iraq’s destiny and its wealth. It further represents certain social, cultural, and emotional aspects that marked the Iraqi society during that time.
