The Linguistic Origin between Ibn Faris (d.395A.H.) in His book "Maqayis Al Lughah" and Al-Hakim Al-Tirmithi (d. 320 A.) in His Book "Tahssil Nazeer Al-Quran": A Contrastive Study
Main Article Content
Abstract
The idea of this research is based on a comparison between the book Tahseel Naza’ir al-Qur’an by al-Hakim al-Tirmidhi (d. 320 A.H.), and the Dictionary of Language Measures Maqayees Al Lughah b .Mjhy Ibn Faris (d. 395 A.H.), as Ibn Faris founded the idqea of his dictionary on returning the divergent meanings to general origins that combine these meanings. He has more than one root of these meanings, and Al-Hakim Al-Tirmidhi, when he based his book on the same idea, mentioned in the introduction to his book that the word in the Holy Qur’an, no matter how many different meanings it has, it goes back to a single linguistic origin that combines these Multiple meanings, so the result is that they - both - refer the meanings of the words to a linguistic origin, and this gives us a justification for studying this topic and making a comparison between them, even if the area of their work is different.
I collected a few words suitable for study, and the idea of the research was based on them, and the research came out with a set of significant scientific results.
