Main Article Content
Abstract
The roots of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine have a long history extending to the Eastern Slavic state. Geopolitics shows the extent of the inherited entanglements in Russia's relationship with its immediate surroundings, which formulated giant and isolating geographical areas to create a geopolitical region, representing an extension of Russia from Vladivostok on the Pacific Ocean to Eastern Europe. After the Cold War, Finland joined NATO and the European Union expanded to include Eastern European countries to form the Atlas on Russia's western borders, which created an influential environment that led Russia to annex the Crimean Peninsula. Russia tried to change the geometry of the world by reaching a multipolar world in which it is one of its poles. The research problem represented is that the Russian-Ukrainian conflict is the result of a clash of civilizations after the expansion of the European Union and Ukraine's demand to join NATO while the main goal of the research represented in analyzing Russia's role through the declared war to put an end to the expansion of the Atlantic towards its borders in addition to splitting the European house. The research represents the process of analyzing the political, military and economic dimensions of the Russian-Ukrainian war and the role of the global regime led by the United States.
