Abstract

The current research aims to identify the level of perceived mental image and the statistically significant differences of perceived mental image according to the gender and specialization variables. The research sample consisted of (300) male and female students from the third year at Tikrit University who were chosen using the random stratified method. The researcher built a mental image scale.


 The perceived based on the information processing theory is in its final form of (26) items after calculating the discriminating power and extracting the psychometric properties of the scale, and with the help of the statistical program (SPSS), the results showed the following:


- The research sample enjoyed an average level of the perceived mental image.


- There are no statistically significant differences between males and females in the level of perceived mental imagery.


- There is a statistically significant difference between science majors and humanities majors, in favor of science majors.
