Abstract

This study explores the key elements of the educational system at Tikrit University and their role in fostering social peace. The research identifies four fundamental components within the system: university administration, teaching quality, curriculum, and academic research. A qualitative research approach was employed to examine these aspects, and four research questions were formulated to guide the study. A total of 50 administrators and 150 faculty members from Tikrit University participated in the study by responding to a structured survey. The data analysis led to several key findings:

  • University administration plays a crucial role in social peace by adopting a humanistic and democratic approach, implementing strategies that facilitate collaboration between students and faculty members, and fostering a culture of mutual respect.

  • Teaching quality contributes to social peace by addressing intellectual and security-related concerns among students, encouraging critical thinking, and promoting peaceful conflict resolution.

  • The curriculum enhances social peace by equipping students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills, enabling them to advocate for peace within the university and the wider community.

  • Academic research supports social peace through scientific conferences and seminars, which cultivate awareness, strengthen social relationships, and encourage students to engage in constructive dialogue.

Based on the findings, the researchers recommend the following:

  • Developing and implementing educational programs that emphasize the values of social peace.

  • Organizing cultural, artistic, and religious activities that promote harmony and coexistence.

  • Conducting further research on the role of media in disseminating a culture of social peace within society.
