Proposed Educational Approaches for Participatory Leadership to Achieve Sustainable Development in Education

Abstract
This study aimed to explore proposed educational approaches to enhance participatory leadership as a mechanism for achieving sustainable development in educational institutions. It focused on analyzing the role of participatory leadership in creating educational environments that ensure quality, equity, inclusiveness, and environmental sustainability. Using a descriptive-analytical approach, the study reviewed relevant literature and prior research on participatory leadership and sustainable development in education.
The findings revealed a comprehensive framework supporting participatory leadership as a key tool for achieving sustainable development. Participatory leadership improves efficiency, enhances performance quality, and promotes joint planning while addressing environmental, social, and economic dimensions. However, its application faces challenges such as organizational culture resistance and a lack of leadership capacity.
The study recommended continuous training programs to develop participatory leadership skills, clear policies that emphasize transparency and accountability, and fostering a culture of collaboration and shared responsibility. It also emphasized adopting effective electronic systems to improve communication and performance monitoring, along with establishing regular evaluation mechanisms to assess the impact of participatory leadership. Strengthening cooperation between educational institutions and local communities was highlighted as vital to ensuring sustainable progress in implementing participatory leadership practices.
