Urban Land Use in Dense Residential Neighborhoods Sector 48 in Sadr City as a Model

Abstract
The significance of the research is to examine the context of the rapid transformations taking place in Baghdad, particularly in Sadr City, which is one of the most densely populated and spatially complex areas. Sector 48 represents one of the vital residential sectors within Sadr City and it is characterized by a diverse mix of land uses, including residential, commercial, and service-related functions, among others. This diversity makes it an important model for studying spatial distribution and various land uses. Accordingly, this study aims to analyze the pattern of urban land use within this sector, identify the planning challenges it faces, and propose developmental recommendations that contribute to enhancing land-use efficiency and achieving sustainable urban development.
