Abstract

The Abbasid society was characterized by social diversity. The reason for this is due to the process of development and civilizational mixing between the Arab society and other societies that have come under its banner and for their abundance in this era, and the diversity of its resources from these places, which called for comprehensive mixing with these foreign elements included in the Abbasid society. For such mixing, social rivalries must arise caused by social factors based on hatred, envy, and competition, which constituted most of the causes of social rivalries in which opponents express their hatred with criticism, satire and following stumbacks in language, images, meanings and style. As a result, the forms of rivalries varied into personality and impersonal followed by motives that push poets to rivalry because of the spirit of competition, envy, competition
