Main Article Content
Abstract
The current research aims to identify social responsibility and its relationship to societal peace among university students. The researcher used the descriptive correlational approach. A sample of 112 male and female students from Tikrit University was selected, with 66 males and 46 females selected. Randomly, the researcher prepared two scales, one to measure social responsibility, consisting of 60 items, and the social ladder scale, consisting of (56) items. Their validity and reliability were verified.
The results showed that the students enjoy social responsibility and have a high level in the social ladder. They also showed that the correlation coefficient of the degree of social responsibility with the degrees of the social ladder reached (0.895), which is greater than the tabular value of (0.129). Social efficiency increased the social ladder and vice versa.
The researcher made some recommendations: including activating social activities among university students to allow them to know themselves and others, providing an opportunity for students at Tikrit University to conduct cultural and scientific exchanges through visits, and some suggestions were presented, including: studying social responsibility and some personality traits about university students.
