Main Article Content
Abstract
The success of human societies in surviving depends on their ability to adapt to the surrounding conditions, and their ability to overcome the crises that confront them, which impose a fateful challenge on them, by proving their ability to confront danger. This is the concern of this study which deals with Crusaders in the Levant, as their era was characterized by the congestion of crises, their accumulation and their direct impact on society; therefore, a group of Crusaders confronted this phenomenon, and tried to treat it through various means and methods.
Famine is one of the most important phenomenon that human societies have suffered from since ancient times, due to its prominent impact on human existence. A person cannot live without food. Therefore, human societies had to work to prevent it and treat the food crises they face before their danger worsen, by mobilizing their capabilities and efforts and directing them towards those crises with the aim of eliminating them, or trying to get out with the least losses at the very least.
